“NSM is excited to have a new partnership with KANEKA for Solution Vinyl Resins and bring their high-performance products to customers we have served for many years. KANEKA’s products strategically fit NSM’s sales approach and we are expecting to provide further solutions to customers with KANEKA” said Toshio Kondo, Director of Asian Business Development.

Kaneka’s Solution Vinyl Resins are high performance soluble vinyl terpolymers and copolymers that can be used alone or in combination with other polymers, including acrylics, urethanes, alkyds and other resins. These resins are supplied as dry powders and in different molecular weights and compositions with hydroxyl and carboxyl functionalities. Solution vinyl resins produce highly transparent, flexible, odorless and colorless coatings and can be applied by brush, dipping, spray or roller. In general, they exhibit excellent adhesion to multiple substrates, including plastics, metals and foils. They can also be used in packaging adhesives for the interface between foil and plastic substrates.

“Kaneka started SVR development as a latecomer compared to other competitors, but Kaneka has many researchers trying to improve the quality of existing products and to develop new products that meet low VOCs requirement and more. NSM knows many customers and is building strong relationships with them. Kaneka believes that we will be able to not only expand the business of existing products, but also develop new products by working together and gathering customers’ needs. Kaneka believes this partnership with NSM can discover a ‘new world’ for Kaneka.’’ said Tomoo Miyazawa, Head of Functional PVC Group, Vinyls Chlor-Alkali SV.
